FAQ
1. Will the floating control bar appear in a recording?
By default, no. The recording control bar, annotation box, task progress overlay, and similar floating widgets do not appear in recordings or screenshots; only the content behind them is captured. To capture these floating widgets as well, enable Full Screenshot Mode under Settings → General.
2. When I type an annotation during recording, will Agivar treat those keystrokes as demonstrated actions?
No. Keyboard input while the annotation box is open is filtered out, including the shortcut that opened it (Alt+I on Windows, Cmd+Shift+I on macOS) and the modifier-key releases that follow. The annotation itself is merged into the recording at the time it was made.
3. Is the green waveform on the floating bar a normal audio recording?
It is a voice annotation: Agivar turns what you say during recording into timestamped text notes that help the AI understand the recording, rather than sending a standalone audio clip. The microphone in the main input bar is for chat voice input and is a separate feature.
4. How long does processing a recording take? Can I cancel?
It depends on the recording length. Uploading requires a network connection, and the entire process usually takes tens of seconds to a few minutes. While it is processing, you can keep adding annotation text and other attachments, but the Send button remains disabled until the upload finishes. If you do not want the annotation text you entered to be sent with the current message, click X on the attachment card. To delete the recording completely, remove it from Select recording file or the recording management view.
5. What if the recording came out badly?
After recording, use the recording preview to play it back and check it. If you are not satisfied, remove the attachment and record it again. You can re-record at any time before sending the instruction.
6. When does Task Mode use what I taught in Teach Mode?
Before running a GUI task, Task Mode consults the memory base. If an entry might help with the current task, Agivar reads it. The relevant workflows, rules, and preferences you taught are reused automatically, so you do not need to explain them each time. If an entry references a demonstration recording, Agivar can also ask about details in that recording.
7. I taught it incorrectly, or the workflow changed. How do I update the memory?
Point it out directly in a Teach Mode conversation ("Step 3 of that entry is wrong; it should now be…"). Agivar finds the matching entry, reads the original text, and updates the memory instead of creating a duplicate. If several lessons conflict, the latest version takes precedence. To delete a memory, simply tell Agivar to delete it in the conversation.
8. Why did Agivar say "I won't write this to the memory base for now"?
Because it judged that the instruction was more like a one-off note with no long-term reuse value. This is intentional: the memory base keeps only content worth retaining. If you want to make sure Agivar saves something to memory, tell it explicitly: "Remember this."
9. A task stopped halfway. What should I do?
A task usually pauses because it reached a step that must be handled by you (login, password, CAPTCHA, authorization, and so on). Agivar explains the situation and changes the Send button to ▶ Continue. Once you have handled it, click ▶ Continue (no text is required) and Agivar resumes the task. If you clicked ■ Stop, you can likewise click ▶ Continue to resume.
10. After switching computers, is what I taught still there?
The memory base is stored in the cloud and tied to your account. Sign in with the same account on another computer and the memory base will still be there. A recording's raw frames remain on the computer where it was recorded; the cloud keeps the processed keyframes and text results, which is enough for Task Mode to reference.
11. Where is data stored? How do I wipe local data completely?
Local data is stored in C:\Users\<you>\.agivar\ (conversation history, raw recording data, task scripts, and so on). Uninstalling the app generally does not delete this data. To wipe local data completely, delete this folder manually. The memory base is stored in the cloud and will not be lost when you delete local data.
12. Does Agivar support Mac / Linux?
Agivar currently supports only Windows 10 (1903+) / Windows 11 and macOS. Linux is not yet a formally supported platform.
